The neck is one of the first areas of the body to show signs of aging. A neck lift is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the jawline and redefines the neck to create a more youthful appearance.
What does it involve?
During your initial consultation with Dr. Anavekar, she will discuss what your main concerns are and the appearance you wish to achieve. She will ask you some questions to ensure you are fit for surgery. Dr. Anavekar will then discuss in detail the procedure involved, the recovery period, and potential risks.
There are various ways in which a neck lift may be approached. It may or may not involve liposuction. It is often recommended to combine this procedure with a facelift in order to achieve a natural, youthful result.
The surgery is performed in an accredited private hospital under general anesthesia. Depending on the exact nature of surgery required, it may be recommended for you to stay in the hospital overnight.
What happens after surgery?
In the days after surgery, you may experience mild to moderate discomfort, swelling, and bruising. It is important to rest with your head elevated and to apply cool packs in order to ensure a smooth recovery. You should allow at least 2 weeks to recover at home prior to re-engaging in work and social commitments.
Following your discharge from the hospital, You will then have Review appointments with Dr Anavekar & her Practice Nurse post surgery during the first 6 weeks. Additional Review appointments may be scheduled, as deemed appropriate, after that. Additional appointments may be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
